Yes. You did, in fact, read that correctly. Today is the first day of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog show (being broadcast live on USA and CNBC). It's arguably one of the biggest dog shows in the world, and it's definitely a huge deal in dog show terms.
So, it being Music Monday, I decided to combine the two - because who can resist combining dogs and music? No one.
Here we go.... dog-themed music vids for today!
First up is the granddaddy of dog songs, Elvis Presley with Hound Dog (here on the Milton Berle show)
Next up is Walkin' the Dog. There are a lot of great versions of this song, including the ones by the incomparable Stevie Ray Vaughan (I met him) and the original Rufus Thomas. But I love me some Aerosmith, so that's what I'm putting here - the Texxas Jam version. I was 5 at the time.
This one is David Bowie doing Diamond Dogs (bleeding into John, I'm only Dancing) - and I have to admit that the Thin White Duke is crazily, oddly, bizarrely sexy. Bondage on stage, y'all.
Here's a great "dog" song from my high school years - The Cure with Shake Dog Shake. Love me some Robert Smith.
And, finally, some severely funky, most excellent, George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic. Love the funk.
I hope you enjoyed these!

I've never really watched dog shows except a few snippets here and there. They are fascinating.
